Luca Shaw crossed the line in 3:27.637 — fast enough to beat a stacked field including Benoit Coulanges, Jordan Williams, and Finn Iles. Shaw, one of American downhill's most experienced racers, delivered exactly the performance Canyon needed to set the tone for the rest of the season.
Troy Brosnan: The Veteran Still Going Stronger Than Ever
Troy Brosnan has been one of downhill's most consistent performers for over a decade, and 2026 has been no different. The Australian has been in and around the sharp end all season, including a seventh-place result at Andorra's Round 6 a round where Canyon took the team competition honours. Brosnan doesn't do flashy. He does fast, round after round, track after track.
Henri Kiefer: The World Champs Wildcard
If there's one Canyon rider with unfinished business heading into the World Championships at Val di Sole, it's Henri Kiefer. The reigning German downhill champion came agonisingly close to the world title in 2025, finishing second.
